I have a Ti 4200 GForce 4 graphics card, and a 19" Hansol 920P monitor. I have noticed recently, that the display seems to dance around, and very fine ghost lines dart about the screen. I thought that this may be due to the graphics card over heating, but my CPU is running at 45C and mother board at 31C, and the problem still persists.

The monitor isnt close to any electrical devices, and wasnt moved prior to the onset of my problems.

The problem is intermittent, and even occurs in safe mode, or when the computer is booting or closing down.

I have all the latest drivers and BIOS, any suggestions are welcome, but I dont hold out a huge amount of hope for this one being resolved!

Check around the room for interference from other very close monitors, TV set .Try the monitor on a different computer to find if the computer or the monitor has a problem.Check the video card properties and try using Optimal setting if the refresh rate is unknown relative to this monitor.Good luck.

It sounds like your monitor may be the problem. Try connecting the monitor to a different CPU, if the problem exists when you connect to a different system, you may need a new monitor. Something about the VGA going bad.

I was running at 85Hz, and a res of 1280 by 1024....i put the res down to 1024 by 768, which meant my refresh rate could go up to 100Hz...This hasnt fixed the problem, just made it less noticable. My graphics card should be able to handle any res really, its not exactly an old card, and has 128Mb RAM!

Arrrgh this is annoying....could it be the monitor over heating?

I have often wondered whether they should have active cooling in the monitor case...then again I have never had this problem before! How close would a big TV have to be before it could be considered to be in range to cause interference?
