Intel Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
2 1Gb Sticks of ram
Coolmax 950 Watt Power Supply
Nvidia GTX 260 G Card
Asus P5Q Pro Motherboard
For a few days now, when not doing anything specific,
like playing a game, listening to music, browsing the
web, or even idling my computer with nothing running,
it would just restart without warning. The power supply
is relatively new, and my temp sensors are reading 35
degrees celcius average. Considering this, I was
thinking it would be either a ram issue, or a virus. Any
help would be much appreciated.

Hi
I started getting a problem very similar to what you describe around the beginning of July too. I have an Asus P5LD2 SE-based PC with Pentium D 2.8GHz, 2GB RAM and a basic ATI Radeon X300 graphics. The restarts are unpredictable. I am currently going thru the process of disembowelling the PC - I have improved the PSU, cooling kit and case (the previous were mid-range anyway). Often it happens when running drive scans for e.g. defrag or viruses, but so far 3 different virus scans have found nothing.
I am currently trawling thru driver updates for the motherboard etc., but I'd love to hear any other suggestions too!

My first thought would be to run a ram check and ram setting.
Have known an itermmitent hard drive problem to cause the same symptoms, but this would be very rare and unlikely.
With the temp at 35 dergrees that would rule out heat as the cause, the usual culprit.
