Can anyone tell me why ctrl+click won't work? I can't choose multiple items in a list, instead when I do ctrl+click all it does is open another IE window. I used to be able to use ctrl+click to choose from a list so I must have accidentally done something and I don't know what!!!
Get a keyboard tester application maybe, the keboard map app with windows might work maybe onscreen keyboard (OSK). Might be that the control key is not working? Try the other side's key. Also some apps might take over control of various hot key things. Did you install any apps lately?

Open control panel and then check your mouse properties. Some mouse drivers have restore settings and that might get you back. Ctrl+click in Internet Explorer(Windows XP SP2) is usually the key you hold down when you have pop-up blocker enabled to open a new window.
