Comment: Hi, someone I know was posted a question at a IT job interview; How will you fixed a laptop that has crushed BUT you have no recovery disk? Does anyone know the answer to that? Thanks.

Reply: (edit)If it is crushed and the hard disk is destroyed or damaged there is little that can be done. If you mean crashed then I would try an alternate boot device or installing the hard drive as a secondary drive in a working system.

Reply: (edit)Oh... is hard disk crashed & unable to start up. and I forgot to mentioned another point. The laptop has no CD-Rom Drive.. Also, they want to get the same notebok up & running. So is there ways to solve this problem? Thanks.

Reply: (edit)wizard-fred already posed one possible solution - put the hard drive in another system to get windows up and working. Another alternative is to boot the machine with an external floppy or optical drive - if it supoprts it. Michael J
