spec: asrock k8 combo mobo, athlon 64 3000 2.0ghz, 6600gt, seagate 80gb hd, crappy old packard bell CRT, Just installed the latest drivers for my 6600gt to fix a problem i have running any dvds. 1) My computer display locks up when trying to play any dvds to the point where i have to turn off my comp and restart. have tried about 10 different video players without success. But strangely all my dvds play on linux which is on the same computer. 2) So thought updating my drivers would be the answer but now when trying to play games my monitor turns itself into standby mode even though i have changed the display settings and told it to never turn off the monitor. Also the only way to get back out of standby mode is to turn the comp off at the mains and restart. Not to handy in the middle of world of warcraft.
