ok i want to connect a third pc to my new router, the only spare cable i have is a crossover cable but i have an adapter that i used to use to make my straighthrough cable a crossover cable, would this work with making a crossover into a straight through?, yes your thinking just try it but the pc i want to connect will take me 30 mins to reassemble and i cant be bothered at the moment to rebuild it if the cable wont work! thanks

Hi Rocky
Haven't we met earlier todqay LOL
What you're trying to make is commonly called CAT5 twisted-pair network cables.
For a tutor on how to make it, visit http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/cable/cable1.htm
Hope this helps
Good Luck

Yes, if you connect a crossover to a crossover, you will have converted the thing back to straight through.
I can't imagine it takes 30 minutes to hook up two cables?

But why dissemble it of the cables don't work?
Takes seconds to fit a different cable. No disassembly required.
