OS: Win ME
CPU/Ram: 350 MH, 300 Megs ram
Product: AMD K6-2 3D
Comment:

Hello! My Dad's PC just had win ME installed on a
clean harddrive, and drivers for all the hardware
installed..i.e., no conflicts with any old drivers..
The usb gives that CRC error tho
everytime..("printing failed - crc error on USB001
port") - we have replaced the cable with a 2.0 one,
this did not help.
Could faulty RAM play a part?, as the buffer is
stored in ram..the ram is unusual in that it is (i kid
you not!) comprised of 128 meg 72 pinners..i have
a box of these rarities i thought i should use up a
few of....and they worked flawlessly in another
computer of mine,,
If not, has anyone succesfully solved this problem,
and what worked?
Thank you.

How do I check if my PC has USB 2.0?
You can identify whether your PC has Hi-Speed USB or not relatively easy. Open Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus section. There should be an "Enhanced" USB host controller present.

A USB 2.0 PCI add on card may also be your solution.

I found the 72pin 128Mb memory they also have a memory configurator to see if your computer accepts it.

Scroll a little bit and you'll see the before you buy finger pointing.

Next you'll see the configurator.

Yea, that old thing definitely does NOT support USB 2.0, so if that's what you need, a PCI adapter card will be necessary. However, if you're having problems with USB 1.1, it may be because you didn't install the motherboard chipset drivers, or there may be a separate driver for USB.

Here's a few cheap cards:

This one has Firewire & USB:

Hi, Cyclic Redundancy Check Errors usually refer to reading problems with a drive or anything that prevents the correct data from being read or written. Most USB 2.2 devices will work on 1.1 just at the slower rate.
Good Luck, Jim
