how do you use cpu-z?I saved it and opened it and when I click on anything nothing happens.I am trying to find out some important info about my pc and need help.If someone can walk me thru it I'd appreciate it

I need help I am new here.I would greatly appreciate some help since I can't find everything on google.

Save it to folder cpuz 131.zip open zip file and you will see cpuz click on it Then it will ask to extract or run click run.

Yep, download, unzip, open the folder, click on CPUZ.exe & wait...sometimes it takes up to 30 sec for it to open.

BTW, it helps to have folder options configured to show the file extensions (such as .doc, .exe, .txt, .zip, etc)...it makes it much easier to find the correct file.

ok now I have a few more questions it shows dram freq at 200.9mhz and max bandwith at 333mhz.Is there any way I can up this to make it faster or do I need to buy new ram?

I need help I am new here.I would greatly appreciate some help since I can't find everything on google.

If you have PC3200 (aka DDR400), it's supposed to run at 200MHz frequency.

EDIT: sorry, I just realized that you're probably asking about your Gateway which *should* have DDR2-667. If it's running at 200MHz, you must have a setting misconfigured in the BIOS.

Heres the thing i've never changed anything in the bios.I can't get into it to change the ram.It shows where the ram is from the menu but I can't get into it.Here is the model of the mobo Foxconn Mcp61pm2ma.

Is this for the Gateway or are you asking about a different system? The model number you gave is incomplete...you have an MCP61PM2MA-8EKRS2H:

Have you read thru the manual, especially the chapter on the BIOS?

"DRAM Configuration
Press <Enter> to set the items of DRAM Configuration"

when I turn on cpu-z it shows my cpu speed as only 1ghz instead of 2.6ghz.I wonder why
