hi i have a Toshiba Satellite X205-S9349 Notebook and im trying to upgrade the cpu wich cpus i can upgrade to,a program called pc wizard tells me it has socket p (478) which cpus will my bios support and if not can i upgrade the bios so it does

Looking at the specs, it's a pretty well configured machine.

And socket P is not the same as socket 478. Why do you want to upgrade the CPU? I just checked newegg & they only carry one socket P 800MHz FSB CPU...the T7500 which runs at 2.2GHz & cost $250. That's a lot of cash for a 400MHz upgrade in clock speed.

well i dont want to buy another laptop, and i played some games like empire total war and its slow cant handle them with the highest configuration, so i wanted to upgrade for better results in games, and what sockets does the mother board supports, also i wanna upgrade the ram, i know vista only sees up to 3 gigs is it still worth it to upgrade to 4

"and i played some games like empire total war and its slow cant handle them with the highest configuration, so i wanted to upgrade for better results in games"
Likely more of a video card/chipset issue than a CPU issue.
"also i wanna upgrade the ram, i know vista only sees up to 3 gigs is it still worth it to upgrade to 4"
You'd really need to upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows to see the "full" 4GB of RAM...
