Dimension 1100 into a Dell Dimension 4400 with
a intel 845D chipset.. P4 1.6GHZ.. will it work?

Nope. The i845D is an old, old chipset that only supports 400FSB chips. The processor VRM on your board also wouldn't be able to meet the electrical requirements of a Prescott-based CPU.
