Hello,
I had to replace the mobo in my computer. I did this attached everything and turned it on. I now get an error that says "CPU Changed, CPU or CPU freqency is wrong." Now, the CPU frequency is set to 24x100 = 2.4 Ghz. I looked at the screen where you change the values, and it says the value can be 100 to 132. My question is, how do I know what value to enter? I thought this would be automatic. If anyone needs to know, the CPU is an intel Socket 478, and the mobo is a P4VMM2 v8.1 (I upgraded to v8.1 - the previous mobo was NOT v8.1)

The 2.4GHz P4 can be either 400FSB (100MHz x 4), 533FSB (133MHz x 4), or 800FSB (200MHz x 4)

Download CPUZ, unzip it, then double click CPUZ.exe...when it pops up, look under the heading "CLOCKS"

Thank you for responding. I can only enter a value from 100-133, and the multiplier is 24, not 4. I see 100 x 24= 2.4 Ghz. Do you know where I can change the 24 value?
Also, how will the tool help me, since I cannot boot to the OS?

Hey, hiho stole my post!

"multiplier is 24, not 4"

Roger, the multiplier on the P4 is locked & cannot be changed. Since your CPU is 2.4GHz & the multiplier is defauling to 24x, the FSB setting is supposed to be set at 100MHz (24 x 100MHz = 2400MHz)

The "4" that was mentioned is supposed to represent Intel's "quad-pump" technology. The actuall setting in the BIOS is 100MHz, it's effective speed is 400MHz (100 x 4). Same goes for the other FSB speeds that are listed:

133MHz (actual) quad-pumped = 533MHz (effective)

200MHz (actual) quad-pumped = 800MHz (effective)
