Hi..do any of you guys know what is the range of acceptable cpu temperature.
Mine is showing a temperature of 50 degrees celcius now. I do have thermal protection on my Soltek motherboard which will automatically shut down the system if the cpu reaches 85 degress celcius.

Thanks

40-60 is typical operating temps for most people. I would personally set it to shut off after going over 65C.

agree with above, at 85C the damage may already be done...

You don't need some motherboard feature to turn off your computer at 85 degrees celcius. Because when your CPU reaches 85 degrees celcius you will not have much CPU left, it will be mostly fried already.
