CPU speed not recognised

CPU/Ram: Athlon 2600 256 Ram

I have an Athlon 2600 on a Leadtek K7NCR18D motherboard. I have gone all through the BIOS and can see no way of adjusting the CPU speed and the board only sets the speed at 1200 instead of 2600.

You need to set the FSB to 166. If you can't find this in the BIOS check the manual. The 2600+ is rated at 1.9Ghz.

I believe there are 2 different XP 2600+ CPUs...a Barton (2.08ghz @ 333FSB) & a Thoroughbred (2.13ghz @ 266FSB)...

Tbred = 133 x 16
Barton = 166 x 12.5

Check your manual...the settings are in there

166 x 12.5 should get you 2075 mhz
