cpu & ram upgrade

Specs: Windows 7
Hi, I have the Asus A8M2N-LA motherboard with AMD Sempron. and 512 MB of RAM. The motherboard has a AM2 socket. HP's specification says the motherboard will be compatible with processors upto AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+.

And I want to upgrade it to

AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750
4GB of G.Skill 800 mhz memory. I have checked this already with the memory from another computer. It works.

Since, both 5000+ and 7750 are sold for almost the same price, I wonder if the the 7750 would be compatible. The OS is Win 7 32bit. Could someone please, tell me it's OK?

The X2 7750 (Kuma) is a Phenom based AM2+ CPU & *should* be run on an AM2+ board with DDR2-1066 RAM. I doubt it will work in your HP board. Stick with an AM2 CPU or buy a decent motherboard & DDR2-1066 for the Kuma.
