I have just bought a new motherboard and CPU I know they go together but when I get into windows it tell me in MY COMPUTER that the CPU is a Athlon XP 1500+, but the CPU that I bought is a Althon XP 2700+ how do I fix this so windows reads my CPU right, the mother board I bought is a Gigabyte 7VAXP-A Ultra

check the 7vaxp manual to see how to change the cpu frequency to 166 instead of 100.

Indeed, must be a jumper near the CPU to change your fsb. (Most likely the fsb you can choose is printed next to the jumper.) You should use 166Mhz FSB
