Hi, I found that my cpu processor fans are not running when I boot the machine. Is it an indication that the fan is not working properly ? will the fan runs only when the motherboard crosses some threshold heat ?
please advice.

Did you read the manual that OtheHill told you to do before the moderator deleted many of your threads due to serial postings today?

As I wrote before your best option is return the refurbished laptop under the Seven Day Replacement Warranty you mentioned you have for it.

Except possibly in the case of very low power cpus most people don't have on their system, the cpu fan should always be spinning and pushing air.

Laptops have the CPU stepped down in power and doesn't require the fan during these periods.

The manual should explain that to the OP.

OtheHill: Many desktops also have fan speed control enabled in the BIOS for the motherboard.

The fan on the laptop I use doesn't come on unless I do something CPU intensive.
