I got another system built... and when i plug the power cable in, the PC is on by itself. (something is wrong here). I am not able to detect my 40GiG HD, but when i put it on my old computer it detects. how can i solve this? I am gonna download the BIOS update from Asus.com now.

Better the fan is always on than off. You sure you don't have the fan connection hooked to your monster drive?

Nope, it's hooked up to the motherboard CPU fan slot (3 pins)

are you sure the motherboard is not grounding out the the frame some how you said you just built it so check double check instaltion like the washers to the frame etc. http://www.infohq.com/Computer/athlon-build3Steps.htm
