Does anyone know what it costs in hydro per hour or day to leave a computer ON, vs. turning it OFF??
(assuming sleep mode for any length of time.....)

No idea of actual figures, but it is minimal. As long as you leave the fans running so it stays cool, by all means, leave it on. There is one school of thought this is better for the computer, as the power surges from a cold boot can cause deterioration in hardware performance.

always turn off the monitor when you get up since it takes more than half the computer electricity.

Use vcool or cpuidle to cut your daily system unit wattage by 50%.
