I have xp home installed fine on my new pc but i decided to install pro. The disk was missing files needed for installation so backed out.

Now my pc seems to think it is in a dual boot with xp home and xp pro setup. If nothing is pressed it defaults to xp pro install so is quite frustrating.

There seems to be only 1 partition on my drive, i was expecting to have one for a half completed install and delete it.

Any advice on what to do about it would be great.

You probably didn't pay close enough attention when you did the install...instead of upgrading, you clicked thru the screens too fast & created a dual boot setup. If both XP installs are on the same partition, you really have a mess on your hands. My guess is it'd probably be best to backup all your important files, format the drive, & reinstall the XP version of your choice. Wait for other responses to see if they agree.

What was the reason for the upgrade in the 1st place?

I may have sorted it now. I definitely did not set up dual boot. I have deleted the temporary new windows folder and editied my boot.ini accordingly. All seems fine now.

By the way new pc is great, if any of you remember me. My d 805 runs stably at 3.6 stock volts 41 idle 48 load.
