Hey all, me again. After getting XP and CZ installed fine on my new 120 gig hard disk, I plugged in my 40 as slave. This worked fine and I got all my models for CZ off it.

I have a 20 which I wanted to put as slave as well, so I switched off the comp, unplugged the 40, plugeed in the 20, and it screwed up. It just would not load.

I have a feeling there ws a virus on there which has corrupted something on the 120 gig.

All I want to do now is format the 120 and start again from scratch. This is where my problem is.

I try and boot off the XP disk, it goes to the blue screen, with 'Setup is insecting your installed components', etc, then says 'Unexpected error'.

I tried with a Win2000 cd, but it said 'error loading operating system'.

I know there is a problem with my hard disk, I need to know how to completely format it to remove all partitions, all data, EVERYTHING, and get it back to brand new condition.

Cheers.

Poor Stevie. They never did find his head.

Not sure why you want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

You might just try removing the 20 gig drive, boot up the XP cd and go into recovery console and run the utility Fixboot.

I suspect your system had two partitions on your main drive and when you added the 20gig drive which was already partitioned it messed up your drive letter enumeration.

I have been able to use fixboot to fix this.
