cordless mouse - HELP!

CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon 1ghz 256bm

i just bought a Packard Bell c-3up cordless mouse and it doesn't seem to work.
I have a green light on the receiver but thats all. no movement. i tried uninstalling all mouse drivers and rebooting with the new mouse in, still no joy.

hope someone can help.

Long shot here. But does the mouse itself need batteries. Check that.

yep, new batteries and apparently needds no software as xp should pic it up.

Just wondering, I have a wireless k/b and mouse package. when first plugged in, the receiver needs to be set to receive the k/b and mouse by pressing buttons under them, do you have to do anything like that?

Look for a small hole in the bottom of the mouse. About the size of a pencil tip. It should say connect. Push it and hope it works.
