I copy my audio CD to my computer using Media player normally, but I have been trying to copy some older CD to my computer and can't get them to play or copy. Some are 1986 onward upto about 1995 so far. Any suggestions how I can get round this please?his

Has the term 'rip' already gone by the wayside?

The audio files on store-bought cds don't show. They have small files with a .cda extension that act as a placeholder/virtual file/shortcut. When you do a typical copy of that you don't get the music files. If your copying routine only shows .cda files then that's your problem. You need to 'rip' the song from the cd. Google something like rip audio cd. There should be a lot of free/shareware software that'll work.
