Cooling fan always on high

Comment:

I just replaced my mobo. My cooling fan is a 2-speed fan. It only runs on low during boot and after that it is constantly running on high. It didn't do that prior to the mobo replacement. It's very noisy. Should I worry about it? Can I change a setting? I went to BIOS but didn't see anything I could change. Thanks for your help.

AMD has something called Cool and Quiet. I think Intel has something similar. Find it in the BIOS (setup) screens.

OtheHill: The OP listed an Athlon cpu. Does the HP Pavillion a1250n have an Intel cpu ? I'm too lazy to look it up myself.

use speed fan to configure your fan speed. jus google speed fan and download it :)
