My RipTide sound card (or that's what the drivers are called) used to have the settings (in dos) (as output by the command "riputil/find")... Riptide IRQ = 10 SB IRQ = 5 SB DMA = 1 MPU IRQ = 9 ...(if run in a windows-dos box I think the only difference was MPU IRQ 10) but in any case it worked. Now I've installed a controller card for my HD and now the card must have IRQ 10 (it does in windows) so my sound card now has... Riptide IRQ = 5 SB IRQ = 5 SB DMA = 1 MPU IRQ = ? ...(in dos...I'm not sure of MPU & can't check right now but it does find it & it doesn't display a ?)...& in windows it has... Riptide IRQ = 5 SB IRQ = 3 SB DMA = 1 MPU IRQ = 5 ...I've e-mailed Belkin but they didn't respond. Note: sound in windows is fine but crashes on (attempted) use in dos & this program (that has sound & I'm trying to run) doesn't run in a windows-dos box. So my question is how do I tell me controller card to give up IRQ 10 & pick something else? Dos is referring to holding Ctrl after the keyboard lights blink & before the computer beeps to get the menu & picking option 5. I don't use windows "Restart in MS-DOS mode" it's silly & doesn't really put you in dos.
