Continuous Beeps while exiting BIOS screen

July 14, 2009 at 01:06:25
Specs: Windows XP SP2, AMD/512 MB
I have a new issue with my ASUS K8V-MX Mobo.
I recently re connected the front panel wires (removed them and reconnected them back to check for my front panel MIC).
I also went to the BIOS updation screen to check the settings and I found that whenever I Exit the screen with No save option, it keep beeping continuously and stays on that way, unless I switch it off manually.

If I make a change on the screen and select "Save and Exit" it exits without any beeps and restarts - normal function.

Even when I select Esc = "Discard all changes and exit" its supposed to exit and restart but it doesnt and stays on beeping with the same screen on.
What could be the issue here ? Is this a warning message for some part failure ?

The computer works perfectly fine when windows boots up !!
Thanks a lot

Well, some error for sure.

Before I went too far I think just leave it unless it is under warranty. Then maybe return it or in last case re-flash bios.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
