I just solved this same condition with my pc (Dell XPS), and it can mean simply that one of your RAM modules just has a bad connection. Before wasting money buying new ones, just take a clean pencil eraser (not old & dried up) and after removing each RAM module, use the eraser to gently rub across all of the gold electrical contacts of your RAM to clean off any oxidation. Wipe them with a soft cloth, then reinsert. That did the trick with mine, and no problems since!
