I have installed a SB live 5.1 player soundcard into my new PC & everything works OK including connecting my headphones to the green output socket. BUT my headphone lead is not long enough - i have on the front of my PC tower a couple of USB slots & a pink & green socket which I assume are for headphones. I can not get any sound from these which I assume is cause they only work when the intergrated soundcard was enabled.
Is there any way of connecting this up to my SB Live card.

hello some computers that people have build have front conectors on case. but if mobo dont suport all the front conectors they wont be enabled. since your out put is at the back you can goto radio shack and get an extention cable for head phones. allso look up your mobo and d/l manual if you have not allready and see if it suports front audio conections.and look up your sound card to see if it dose. allso if you had onboard sound now that you have a sound card disable it in bios.

I use patch and wye cables or headphones with a longer cable to accomplish this.
Most front panel jacks either require a mobo header and/or patch cables to hook 'em up.
The cables you need are available at RadioShack and other electronic supply houses.
