Solved Connecting an eMachines desktop to TV via HDMI

July 23, 2012 at 16:59:39
Specs: Windows 7, 1.8Ghz/2GB
My dad just wants to connect his eMachines desktop EL1333G to his Panasonic 50" plasma TV. I tried a VGA to HDMI converter & it's not working. I get the OS boot up screen on the TV then it goes blank. Can I replace the video card with one that has an HDMI port? eMachines tells me there is one PCI Express ×16 port to install graphics card. Can I just install any PCIe card? He's not a gamer just wants a big screen due to vision problems.

It comes with 2 size brackets, the normal size and ones for small form factors so it should fit in your case fine.

Your post came when i was typing mine by the way, any way get the card if his TV doesn't have a VGA port, if it does have one, use a VGA cable to connect.

By the way, there are two low profile brackets, one for the VGA connector and one for HDMI and DVI.

You will need to take off the big bracket (if its too big for your comp) attach the one with 2 slots on the graphics card, the VGA port is on a wire , so on the second bracket, attach the VGA port then secure them.
