Unfortuanitly such an adabter is not available. There is an adapter that will go from USB on the computer side to parallel on the printer side, but not one that does the opposite. It looks like there is something that resembles a parallel port on the back of the printer that you connect the USB cable to, but it is most likely some HP only thing.

If you are looking to share your printer across the network by hooking it up to the router than you can do the same thing by leaving it connected to your computer. You will need to be logged in as the Administrator or part of the administrator group to do the following. Go to the Printers section in the Control Panel, right click on the printer that you want the rest of the people on the network to be able to use, and select sharing. Select the Shared As radio button and give the printer a short name than click OK. Windows might ask you for your Windows disk, but than again it might not.

If you don't see the sharing option when you right click on the printer icon, than you need to install File and Printer sharing for your LAN connection. To do this go the Network and Dial-up Connections window, which accessible from the Control Panel, right click on your LAN connection and select properties. If you see File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks listed than make sure that the checkbox is checked and then click on OK. If you don't see it than you will need to install it. To do this click on the Install button, select Service than click on the Add button, select File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks than click on OK. Windows will install the service and all will be ready. To get it working just follow the instructions above.

Once this is done any computer on the network should be able to use the printer as long as the computer is on and at least at the login screen. Only drawback besides leaving the computer on 24/7 is that whenever something is printed to the printer, the printee will need access to the printer to get their printings. (I didn't use the word print too much, did I?) Good luck.
