Specs: Windows XP, Intel Core Duo 2 GHz / Hyundai Electronics 1 GB DDR2 + Corsair 2 GB DDR2
ok guys, i have to update the firmware of my
nokia mobile, so i need to connect it to my pc
using a nokia fbus cable (i don't know what's
the difference between a general fbus cable
and a nokia fbus cable).
the problem is that the fbus cable is to be
connected to a male DE-9 serial port on pc,
but my laptop does not have one.
i have found some USB to DE-9 converters,
but they all have the limitation of not powering
up the device connected, as fbus does.
the mobile needs to have a powered
connection which seems impossible with
these USB converters.
my laptop has a VGA port, USB ports,
Ethernet port, Expresscard 54 slot, Firewire
do any of the above port be made to work as
serial DE-9 port? if not, please, tell a solution.

You could get a pcmcia card to serial bus adapter. Google for "pcmcia to serial bus" and you can find lots of them.
