Hi,

( Sorry if anyone has seen some posts like this somewhere else)

Basically i have a voice modem with full-duplex speakerphone, and has written a TAPI software that talk to other phone via this modem, only by using a headset plugging in to the MODEM's mic and speaker jack.

For various reason, i'd like to connect the modem to the sound card, so i can plug the headset directly to the sound card while making a phone call.

The modem: Multitech voice modem, with 2 minijacks for mic and speaker

The sound card: Integrated to the motherboard, has 3 standart minijacks (mic, speaker and a lineIn). On the motherboard, i saw a "hole" labelled TAPI (i think its for the connection to the modem).

Could anyone tell me how to do it please !!

Cheers

Sorry have re-read your post, and my answer was totally crap...

I believe most modems come with Windows software like Supervoice, maybe that will suffice:

Most motherboard with on-board sound have more than one audio input. If all you're missing is a TAPI connection then try one of the others.

I happen not to find the corresponding jack on the back of the modem to make the connection from the TAPI jack on the motherboard to. Should ALL modems have jacks to allow connection with the sound cards ?

The TAPI should be like the cdrom 4-wire connection. The motherboard may have an AUX connection that should work. Most modems I've seen don't have the TAPI output. Did you check the software solution that inverto suggested?

I found the TAPI one on the motherboard, but haven't found anything like that on the modem yet.

The software that comes with the modem seems to use the speakerphone on the modem only (i.e: not via the sound card).

With what you've got it sounds like you can't make a direct connection between the modem and sound card. I'd think the only solution may be with software designed for that purpose.
