Comment: Hi dears! I have some problem in my computer . Whenever i start my computer i receive a configuration error message and my bios automatically fix it when i selet the option to automatically fix the error and after that when i enter in the windows my clock is set to 12 am. and the year set to 1980. What is the reason and tell me the solution about it thanks

Reply: (edit)That means it's time to replace your CMOS battery. Normally, CMOS battery last 7 years or so, and when it dies out, the information in the BIOS will not be saved so its normal for your time to stay at 1980 12:00AM. Until you replace it with a new battery, it doesn't matter what you do with it, you still get the same result.

Reply: (edit)I had the same thing happen after Y2K with my now-dead Pentium 1. But, it didn't keep getting reset.
