For some reason my computer won't turn on. Light on motherboard is on, so there is power. Happened a few weeks ago, but came on after playing with power button a couple of tries. Maybe its the power switch on the case. Any ideas?

well in this case you had to unplug the power cord and turn the main switch off and then plug it back in, this should work for you.
i had this problem couple times before after power surge.

I've turned the power supply off in the back of the computer, motherboard light went off, turned power supply back on, motherboard light came on, and still the computer will not turn on.

does your hard drive/CD spin up when you turn it on?

if it does, the power supply is probably fine. if not, then it's the supply's fault.

With the pc *DISCONNECTED* from the mains, open up the psu and blow out any muck particularly on the fan, with a hair dryer set to cold and maximum blow. Use long narrow brush to assist.

Watch to see that psu fan starts when powering on pc. If still have starting problems try borrowing a known good psu, in order to isolate cause.

Good luck - keep us posted.
