Upon building/buying this computer it worked exceptionally. I had not shut it down for a week, then one day I needed to transport it, and when trying to turn it on again, the power light flashed, but the computer did not turn on.
Normally, to me this would be a power supply issue, so I tried a power supply from another computer, and it worked.

So, I went to buy a new power supply, and after about 2 weeks, the same thing happened again after having to shut the computer down. I have gone through 4 new power supplies in 2 months, and I am convinced the power supply is not the problem. It seems as if the mboard is not holding charge, or is draining the power supply in some way.

Sometimes when the computer wont turn on, I will try it in a different outlet in the house, and it will turn on..Then the cycle continues. I was thinking it may have to do with a switch, but the problem seems too consistent for that.

Also, I have an ePox board and 1gig ram.

Thanks for any help-

Ryan

try doing "flea power"---in this case u gotta detach ur power cable from the tower box and after doing this keep the power button on the tower box pressed for about 10 secs and then plug in the cable and restart ur machine

hope it will help

Is your computer on a surge protector? If its an older house with older wire..You could be having small surges throughout your house. Power surging doesnt do any good for a powersupply.

Considering your specs, 3200+ A64, 1GB RAM, 9800Pro, you need a pretty beefy power supply. If you're only spending $20-25 on replacements, you probably overtaxing the cheap components & they're blowing out on you. The PSU is one thing that you definitely shouldn't cut corners on. Buy a reputable name brand (Antec, Enermax, Fortron, Sparkle, ThermalTake, to name a few) & plan on spending at least $50

I have been buying Antec 400 watt supplies, for around $45.

I want to try that 'flea' power trick, but what does that accomplish? Also, I am afraid my comp wont turn back on when i do that : /

Thanks again
