Computer won't turn on anymore.

Specs: Windows XP
Okay, so here's the deal. I bought some new RAM for my computer. I put it in and the computer won't start. So I put back in the old RAM, and it still won't start. The fans all start to run, but cut off in a second. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Did you get compatible RAM for your system? When you reinserted the old RAM, did you make sure you were grounded before touching anything, and make sure that the old RAM is completely in the slot(s)?

As far as I can tell, I was grounded. I
didn't feel any shocks, but I don't know if I
would. This was my first time to switch RAM
out (I usually have my brothers do it, but
they live elsewhere now). I've also made sure
that they were pressed in all the way.

And yes, the RAM is compatible. The old RAM doesn't work either, though, so I'm guessing something else got zapped.
