it's like this, i left my computer installing a game and when i came back the monitor was black and the light was blinking like it wasnt receiving any signal. i tried to reset but the button wouldnt respond, couldnt turn the comp off either. and now when i boot, it's the same deal. blank screen - "check signal cable" - and i cant reset or power off. the cd rom and fans and everything rev up like usual but that's it. that's all i get. i know the monitor's not the problem and i tried a different hard drive without any change. can anyone help me?

What are your exact specs? Do you have an video card, or is it on board? If it's a card, try replacing that if you can, and see what happens. I would then try replacing the PSU to see if that's it, whether some thigs are working or not, it may not be cranking out enough (can't tell you how many computers I've worked on with your symptons that turned out to be the PSU). Let me know your specs though.

the CPU fan spins fine, but the power supply fan is pretty weak. do you think a power supply could cause a problem like this?? i mean, it still has power but it just doesnt do much. if i had another 300 watt power supply i'd check it out. just like if i had another 1800 amd processor handy i'd test that too, but i dont so i'm kind of stuck...
is PSU power supply, or something else? i have a video card but i really dont see how that could cause the computer to not shut off nvidia geforce 2... asus a7s333 motherboard 1 cd writer and 1 60gb western digital hard drive

Try new ide cable....I know that sounds weird, but I just had one doing the same thing.....tried everything...then tried new IDE cables....and now it works!!!
Summary: My computer wont start up anymore. I took out my second harddrive earlier today and i had to unscrew it and all. When i put it back in it wouldnt start up anymore. I check all the connections and ever...
