Alrighty, so about 3 weeks ago my comp just decided to crash and freeze up when i was on it. So then i forced shutdown on it and when i went to power it back on, nothing happened the lights went on u no the works. First step was i changed the psu wasn't it then i decided to strip it down and add parts gradually. (First i reformatted and updated to the most current BIOS) . Everything turned on except for when i put the Sound card in, so i thought hey maybe the sound card is shorting out the system, i grabbed a sound card from a diff comp and nothing comp wont start, grabbed one from another still wont start but once i take the sound card out, the comp starts not problems. Then i thought it might be the pci slot shorting anything in the slot out. So i decided to put a nic card and firewire card in the pci slot. Comp boots and the cards work, the only time the comp doesnt start is when a sound card is put into the pci slot. Any IDEAS?

i just had one in for repair where the video card did the same thing. replaced the video and alls well
