i tried starting up my computer, and there's no display. i tried replacing my power supply, mother board, and i tried switching different sockets. the cpu is the amd duron 1ghz. the bios doesn't load up, but the fan moves, cd rom drive opens, and the power LED lights up. any suggestions? i'm completely lost.

isn't there any beeps you at all?
-check memory if firmly attached.
-check video card
*check monitor power switch, just in case*

what is the last thing you did that may have caused this? did you change any bios settings? jumper settings?

have you tried clearing the cmos?

no beeps at all. i didn't mess with anything before that would affect the start up. it had this problem before, sort of. like i would need to turn on the computer and it would just sit and run, without starting up. then i would turn it off, then turn it back on, and it would be fine.

let me try to put that into clearer terms:
i started my computer, blank screen. fans running, cd rom drive working. no bios.

now what it's doing is that the fans run, cd rom works, no bios. no matter how long i leave it on.

try powering up the pc with the minimum stuff like, motherboard, cpu with heatsink, video card, rams, keyboard and mouse only. if you get any beeps u will know that those parts are ok.
and if you have more than one stick of ram try using just one.

make sure the pc's internal speaker is connected. it may be the reason you're not getting any beep codes

No beeps and no post usually indicates a problem with the CPU. It may be dead, but try reseating it.
