Hi, thanks in advance for reading this, and thank you anyways if you can't help.
I'm having a problem with my computer not shutting off entirely. The shutdown procedure goes smoothly, but when the computer is "off", there are lights in the computer that keep flashing.
The ones next to the fans are most prominent. Sometimes the fan will start spinning for no reason, too. When I turn on the computer, everything works fine. However, I tried unplugging the computer from the power source once, and it corrupted my Administrator account so it backed itself up and made a new one.. @_@
I'm worried that it's a virus, but AdAware hasn't scanned anything of interest. Also, I'm concerned about it's power usage, since I don't want to leave it on all night if the lights are on. :/
Thank you again!

Try this: Start msconfig, go to the startup tab and deselect everyting in it. Then try a shutdown. It might be some program that is hanging up and not shutting down.
(edit) Sorry, I forgot to say reboot after deselecting everything in msconfig, then test the shutdown.
