My Computer shut down by itself Monday which has been pretty much running consciously for over a year, I noticed the mobo still had a green light but still went out and got another psu to replace it. Problem solved. Replaced it with another 550w psu. Today (2 days after fixing it) I came back home from work and same thing, computer wont power up. Even tried to disconnect power to some of the hard drives, optical drives, etc… Green Light on Mobo still On. So I Went out got another psu 600w this time. Hopefully Problem Solved.

Is there anyway something is shorting my power supplies out? Or was I running Enough Power in the first place?

After asking my wife which was home, she said that she was watching the xbox 360, which we stream movies off the computer and use a transcoder (so we don’t have to reincode all the movies). Failed on her, she also said it did the same thing on Monday, the first time it failed on me.

Could it Be an Overheat issue, and would that fry my psu?

Check the memory sticks by removing one at a time.Reboot.Repeat same with the other one.One of these could be going bad and prevent from booting erratically.

I went and tested the memory at my local computer store, they said they where fine.

I noticed that after the second psu failer that the onbard lan light was on, the other was off becauase nothing was hooked to it(no lan connection). But when I unpluged it and pluged it in it didn't light up any more. I've also noticed my cpu voltage flutates from 1.29v to 1.34 and my 3.3v also jumps around a little, and my temps seem higher, 46 idle 57 playing a movie or video game.

I'm thinking it could be either/ or both an overheat and not enough power(computer downloading, running disk keeper, and getting streamed by the xbox 360 plus having to transcode the streamed movie). But would that short the PSU out?

I also thought it might be the onboard lan,(power surge through the ethernet cable, but i'm on a router with other computers connected to it) so i switched to the other lan and uninstalled the driver to the one that was plugged into the lan when the computer failed.
