Hi, I need some help. I purchased a computer 7 months ago and it worked fine, then one morning it wouldnt POST. The lights and fans would come on, but no beep codes of any kind. After replacing the motherboard and cpu, I was able to get the computer to boot and run windows 2000 using an old PCI card. However, it will not work with my Radeon 9600 XT video card that it had been using since when I purchased the computer.

I just recieved a replacement agp video card (same make and model) and when I go to boot I get a black screen and it still does not POST. I do not recieve any beep codes or errors, but the fans and lights come on, including the fan on the video card. I have tried booting with just the motherboard, RAM, and agp card but there is no change. Is there some kind of setting that I am missing, or does anyone have any suggestions? The only other thing I think it could be is the power supply, but the voltages according to the bios are close to what they should be (it says the agp slot is at 1.48v). Is there any way to check to see if this is faulty? Thank you.

Leadtek WinFast k7ncr18d pro motherboard
atx 520 watt power supply
ATI Radeon 9600 xt 256mb agp video card

I don't know if this will be much help, but AGP cards are not all backward compatible. They kept changing voltages on the newer versions. Check the following site, it might be of some help.

Just wanted to let you folks know, it turns out it was my agp slot on the board. It died evidently on the first board, and the one that was sent to me was DOA evidently. I purchased an Asus a7n8x-e, put it together and it fired right up with my agp card.
Thanks.

Corey
