ive having serious problems and dont know what to do.
i have an ak75 mobo that worked well and was very stable until i upgraded it, and now it wont work.

i purchased a radeon 9800 pro, a new heatsink that was quieter and a new hard drive. i shut off my computer. because my new heatsink uses mounting holes i had to take the mobo out of the computer to install it. i cleaned the dust out and put the radeon 9800pro in the agp. i installed the drive but its not connected to a power source or any ide headers because i was waiting for my extra controller card to come.

anyway, here is where the trouble starts. my computer wont boot. it turns on, but the fans spin and i hear the HD but nothing happens. it seems to either be sending to NO signal to my vga, or has some error or something and nothings happening.

ive cleared my cmos, and that did nothing. i took out the 9800 pro and put my OLD vga back in, but nothings happens. i cleared the cmos and installed a PCI video card, and still i get no signal. i dont know what to do. i checked are rechecked to make sure the agp was seated well. i checked all the ide to see if they were in well, ive checked memory to see if its seating. nothing happens when i power up. it seems to just turn on and then do nothing. i need help!

thanks

You could have a motherboard or CPU problem. They both have to be operating to get a video signal. I hope you grounded yourself before working on the system.

Maybe one or more of the fasteners you used is shorting out the MB. Check by removing the MB and setting up outside of case on non-conductive material.

i have almost the exact same problem. none of the brands and whatever are the same as mooseboy, but the same thing happens. i power up, the fans spin (video, cpu power supply) but nothing else happens. i dont here a beep. just the hard drive making a few noises. i keep hearing people say u could have a motherboard or cpu problem and this is really scaring me coz it sounds like more $$$ that i dont have to fix. how could my motherboard and cpu suddenly not work at the time i move them into a new case. obviously it sounds like i (and mooseboy) have shorted something or at least damaged something, more than likely on the mobo.

ne other possibilities??

robbo
