I think you mean "ground" connection.

You should have a ground connection.

I would get an electriction out to fix your ground connection, or just check that the actual metal pole for your houses earth is connected. Its dangerous not to have one. I once had my computer outside playing music for a party, the ground was damp and I had bare feet. I found out the hard way that I actually make a great earth connection. It was pretty dang unpleasnt and my freinds were laughing at me because I was scared to touch it even once I got my shoes on, haha.... my point being... ummm.. fix it...

Hi, The earth ground, green wire, third pin on the plug, is for your protection and is to cause a house fuse or circuit breaker to blow rather than shocking you. Your system has a problem with a short in the hot lead to the case. You need to get the earth ground problem fixed. If you are only getting a very mild shock your system may be OK. Filter caps across the lines to the case will cause mild shocks with no earth ground. Hope this helps a little.

Good Luck, Jim

"Earth" is the correct terminology in the UK.

Safest bet is to get it checked. If there is something live touching the chassis then applying earth/ground might damage something.

What George has not advised is that he is in Kerala, India.

Only a few years back the same problem existed in European Countries such as Italy.

There, they had to update their wiring.

Unlike the UK, even now in Italy there is no standard asto which is the positive and negative pins.

George - I feel you are asking for trouble not having proper electrical (including grounding) connections.

Also, if your area is prone to storms additional anti-surge / lightning protection should be installed. So far in Italy I have lost at least 3 pc's due to this. (regards Mike)

Good Luck - Keep us posted.
