Comment: I have been having the same problem with my computer since I bought it. Everything runs fine, then I turn it off. It will not turn on unless i install a new power supply. Even if I turn it off again in the next hour, it will not turn on again. I have replaced the power supply almost 5 times now with antech 400W, and I am now sure the PS is not the problem. I am using an EPoX board, which I am blaming as the culprit. I have been trying to avoid buying a new mobo as I am short on money at the moment. Just recently, there was an electrical storm, and I lost power, and now it will not turn on again (havent turned it off for 3 months+ before today). Is there anything know that would cause this to happen? or do i straight out need a new mobo. If I do need a new one, what is a decent/affordable(<$100) brand? Thanks in advance, -Ryan Hunter

Reply: (edit)As it's intermittent you could start by removing the motherboard, give it a thorough look-over for posible cracks, dry joints etc. & then reseat it properly along with all the cards. "I know that I'm mad, I've always been mad"

"I have been trying to avoid buying a new mobo as I am short on money at the moment." No kidding! Your PSU is connected to a source of AC power, the motherboard, the power switch on the case, components within the case like HDD(s), optical drive(s), diskette drive(s), a video card (soemtimes). One or more of these connectors is cooking your PSUs. Your source of AC power is the most suspicious. Do you have a surge protector or UPS?

Reply: (edit)The weird thing is, after my computer is turned off and wont turn back on, the current PS will still work with other computers. Also, Im using a surge protector.
