I have been having the same problem with my computer since I bought it. Everything runs fine, then I turn it off. It will not turn on unless i install a new power supply. Even if I turn it off again in the next hour, it will not turn on again. I have replaced the power supply almost 5 times now with antech 400W, and I am now sure the PS is not the problem. I am using an EPoX board, which I am blaming as the culprit. I have been trying to avoid buying a new mobo as I am short on money at the moment. Just recently, there was an electrical storm, and I lost power, and now it will not turn on again (havent turned it off for 3 months+ before today). Is there anything know that would cause this to happen? or do i straight out need a new mobo. If I do need a new one, what is a decent/affordable(<$100) brand?

Thanks in advance,
-Ryan Hunter

As it's intermittent you could start by removing the motherboard, give it a thorough look-over for posible cracks, dry joints etc. & then reseat it properly along with all the cards.

No kidding!

Your PSU is connected to a source of AC power, the motherboard, the power switch on the case, components within the case like HDD(s), optical drive(s), diskette drive(s), a video card (soemtimes). One or more of these connectors is cooking your PSUs. Your source of AC power is the most suspicious. Do you have a surge protector or UPS?

The weird thing is, after my computer is turned off and wont turn back on, the current PS will still work with other computers. Also, Im using a surge protector.

So the PSUs are OK, they just don't work in this computer?
