Computer will not turn on after I smelt smoke.

Specs: Windows 7, AMD Phenom II x4/ 8GB
Today I received my new EVGA GTX 550Ti video card and I was going to install it into my HP Pavilion Elite e9220y with a cougar sx 700 watt power supply already installed. Once I removed my old ATI card and put in my new one, and powered it up my green led on the mother board began to flash and i heard a rapid sort of "puff" sound and I smelt smoke; I quickly turned it off and took out my new video card and tried to start it up again, but no power was evident in either the cpu cooling fan or the other fan. Neither was the blue running light lighting up. I tested the Power supply and I believe it's ok and i believe the video card is ok, I think it's somthing in the motherboard that is fried. any suggestions?
