Computer will not start up

Message: Computer will not boot up at home. The computer will start up switch to a blue screen and shut down. But the computer will boot up at work and other locations.

Hmm...strange problem, What is different at your job than at your home? The power outlet and or surge protector?

Huh? When you are at work do you plug the computer in and running off batteries at home?

I wan't to add more information to my problem. Laptop will work in the basement. But will not work on the first floor or the second. Also a Dell computer that I use at work works fine.

Check the plugs and the outlets. Sounds as if a good power connection isn't being made when plugging into certain outlets.
