I recently bought parts for a brand new computer when I turn it on, the fans start, but I hear no noise, and the bios does not load. I have tried the video card with another computer; works great. I tried the processor with another ecs motherboard, and it worked fine as well. The RAM is brand new, and should work as well. I've tried resetting the bios already. Any ideas? Here's my specs... motherboard=l4s8a2 mainboard p4 ecs video card=128 mb ddr agp 8x/4x ati raedon processsor=2.4 p4 ram=512 ddr

The motherboard (unless its broken) should be producing a beep code to indicate what is wrong. You may not hear this without attaching the pc speaker to the appropriate pins on the mobo.
Once you're getting a beep sequence, look it up here:

also--even with the speaker plugged in to the correct pins on the motherboard, it makes no beep, when I turn it on. Just fans, and a red light becomes lit.

To make sure that the motherboard is the problem, disconnect all the drives (power and signal) and pull all the cards. You 'should' get a beep with this configuration. I guess you could leave the video card in, since you've checked it out.

Please read the manual and insure any jumpers are correctly set. For example, a duron generally won't work at 133mhz. Also, bad motherboards do exist.
