Hi Folks.

I currently run a Dell 5000. 4gb ram. and its about 5 years old and getting slower with some freezing up, not only when I load images, but also general usage.

I am thinking of upgrading to a Dell XPS 8300 i5. Any one on the list run this set up or familiar with it.and what is your opinion.

Im a freelance photographer and need to be able to work on images, some time as many as 300+ at a time, all of them large files.

Any alternative suggestions would be very welcome.

Budget max £550. (its been a tough year)
Thanks Stuart

I always suggest you try to use the original disks or partition to return it to the OEM state. If it was fast back when new it may still be OK with a clean install. Malware and years of installing programs and stupid search bars slow them down. Load only the stuff you need after you get your security suite and all updates back on. Be careful with any usb flash drives or other computers in your lan. They may be infected.
