Specs: Windows Vista
The pc im having trouble with was purchased in December and just this Saturday I moved it from one room to another. Worked fine Saturday but on Sunday evening around 8 pm it just shut down as if the plug had been pulled. I tried to turn it on a couple times but it kept shutting down right before/at booting Windows. Half an hour to an hour later I managed to got into windows and figured my problem was gone. Did a little browsing and managed to get an item in my amazon shopping cart before it shut down on me and I just gave up for the day.

This morning I managed to get the pc to stay on for more than an hour before it shut down in the middle of a scan from the Vista memory diagnostic tool. Now the only things that happens when I press the power button are the case lights turn on and the fans start before quickly stopping about a second after I press the power button. Could my pc be overheating ? Is my cpu dead?

Phenom II X4 940(3.0GHz) 4GB DDR2 500GB NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT w/ 420W power supply

I originally thought the power supply was a bit weak could it be to blame?
