I screwed up bad and dropped my desktop computer about 3 feet. Now when I try to power it on, things appear to light up and the fans kick on for about 10 seconds, and then it turns off.
I'm wondering if this is a power supply problem or perhaps a more serious motherboard problem.
Any ideas? Busted power supply? Perhaps my motherboard is touching the metal case?
Any help would be cool, if this has happened to you before.

I'm guessing that you may have dislodged the heatsink/ fan assembly. It may have just come off or the retainer ears on the motherboard may be broken. You need to open the case and have a look.

OtheHill is probably correct; you most likely have a CPU overheating issue. However, who knows what dropping a PC can do? At the very least make sure everything is secure, and hope for the best.
